The PBWOA Historical Committee wants to compile a history of the Portage Chain of lakes and to act as a repository of newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, letters, postcards, documents and photographs

We would get started with the gathering of the following information in no particular order

1. The earliest settlers. Circa 1830
2. First buildings.  Circa 1850
3. Pre and post World War 1
4. Henry Ford Property
5. Pre and post dam
6. Stinchfield Woods
7. Peach Mountain
8. Dover Mill
9. Hudson Mill
10. Newport Beach
11. Yacht Club
12. The Detroit Union Railroad
13. The Floods of 1946 and 1957
14. The building of the John Flook Dam
15. Whitewood Camp
16. Huron River mining
17. The Sewer
18. The Red Hen
19. Portage Land Company
20. City of Ypsilanti (a boat)
21. U of M Sail Club
22. Zukey lake Ice House
