POLICIES AND REGULATIONS FOR
OVERNIGHT BOAT DOCKING
In order to further the use and enjoyment of Loch Erin Lake and parks by back lot owners who desire overnight boat docking facilities, and in recognition of the limitations imposed by the large number of and back lots in relation to the limited space available on the shores of Loch Erin lakefront parks, the LEPOA Board of Directors has established the following policies and regulations:
- Overnight boat docking at Loch Erin parks is prohibited, except as authorized by LEPOA written license agreement.
- Notice of dock space availability, license application procedures, and other information pertaining to overnight docking will be published in the Loch Erin quarterly newsletter.
- All agreements relating to overnight boat docking are contained in LEPOA written license agreements only. Verbal agreements will not be made or honored.
- Licenses will be issued to LEPOA members on a "first come, first served" basis in the order that requests are received, except that members who have built a house on their back lots will receive priority over members who own vacant property.
- Licenses will be written for one season only, and must be reapplied for each year. There are no long term licenses, and no license is automatically renewable.
- Licenses and license terms will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors and will be changed from time to time as necessary.
- Administration and enforcement of these policies and regulations may be delegated to the Parks Committee.
The Board of Directors will monitor demand for dock space and dock space availability, and will change or rescind these policies and regulations from time to time as necessary.
Overnight Boat Docking Rules
The only watercrafts that should be kept at the Parks are the watercrafts where the Members have paid to lease a dock slip. There are many Members who have been pulling their rowboats, paddleboats, and rafts up on shore and leaving them in the park. This is considered TRESPASSING. Since the Association has no way of knowing who these watercraft belong to, a notice will be posted on them to be removed from the park immediately or to contact the LEPOA Office to inquire about leasing a shallow dock slip.
For Members who are leasing a dock slip from LEPOA, only one watercraft per slip. The watercraft listed on your License Agreement should be the only watercraft in the dock slip assigned to you.
Regarding Parking at the Parks
There is also a designated parking area at each park for Members to park their vehicle while they use the park. Beginning the year 2000 when boat stickers are sent out, a sticker will also be sent for Member's vehicles. Anyone using the Parks should have an LEPOA sticker on their vehicle. Law Enforcement Officials can then identify trespassing vehicles for ticketing or towing. These stickers will not be replaced yearly as the boat stickers are. Instead, if you sell your vehicle, we ask that you remove your sticker and call the LEPOA Office so a new sticker can be sent to you oce you have been identified as a Member in Good Standing.
