LEPOA EXECUTIVE SESSION

August 11, 1997

Meeting was called to order by President Mike Eberly at 9:45 p.m.

Mike acknowledged a "thank you" from a member for the quick response of the Board and the Parks committee in repairing the dock at Shannon Park. He also acknowledged a "thank you" from the Onsted Festival Committee for financial help in updating the electric in the Park.

Mike believes that Limerick II is still an open issue, especially in light of the fact that four new docks have been installed on the trestle bridge. Rod Kurowski asked what the Board intended to do if the extra docks were indeed installed. Mike Eberly will ask the advice of Bob Nix regarding the matter.

Mike reported that Bob Squires has added an adjoining lot to the peninsula and named the parcel a park to use for funneling his back lots.

There was further discussion regarding possible upcoming developments on the east side of the lake, along with the problem of sewer taps.

Rod Kurowski suggested putting in culverts at the road at the walkway next to K1 lots 175 & 176 and have it mowed to show that LEPOA is willing to do something with the walkways.

Rod will have the High School boys mulch the Christmas trees to be used for the 40 Acres walking paths.

Mike Eberly reported that the lease with Don Edwards is progressing, slowly. Bob Nix is working with him. Don Edwards volunteered to add the lake bottom to the lease. The question of liability was raised with regard to leasing the lake bottom.

The Dock Lease policy was discussed. There has been no action, as yet, on developing a fair and equitable leasing strategy for when supply does not exceed demand. Carol Marsh said that the docks need to be charted for depth, so that deep spaces are left open for deeper draft watercraft and shallow spaces are utilized to their greatest extent. Rod Kurowski will have the High School students map the docks. It was suggested that an early cut-off date be set for applications for docks so that the people with houses on the lake could be given priority over non-residents, as per the LEPOA Policies and Regulations for Boat Docking.

There was discussion on the position of a Parks Co-Chair. Mike Eberly will call Ray Maxe and ask him to contact Harvey DuChateau to see if he can talk him into accepting the position. Mike will contact John Gray to see if he will volunteer to be a Parks Committee member.

Leon Eisemann got a reminder from our Insurance Agent that LEPOA is supposed to require a proof of insurance from anyone hired for work by LEPOA. Board members took note for future reference.

Don Stocker reported the sentiment of some LEPOA members to close the lake to all guest watercraft.

After some discussion about the request in the Directors Meeting regarding Tralee Pond, Leon Eisemann motioned to purchase a fungus eating bacteria for the pond. Don Stocker seconded. Passed.

Carol Marsh asked if the Board wanted to continue with past practice of telling LEPOA members that it was not necessary to get Board approval for docks unless they extend over 30 feet. Board agreed to continue with that policy.

Rod Kurowski motioned to adjourn. Bob Ashworth seconded.

Meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m.

Carol Marsh

LEPOA Secretary
