Invasive Species |
Responsibilities:
Unfortunately, we have discovered Zebra Mussels in the summer of 2003 in the lake. At this point our only recourse is to attempt to remove any zebra mussels we find and destroy them. If you find any in the lake attached to clams, you should remove the mussel from the clam and return the clam to the lake. If mussels are attached to inanimate objects, simply remove the object, if removable, or remove the mussel from the object and destroy it. A mussel can be burned, crushed, or will die if simply left alone out of the water. Click here to view the latest Invasive Species Committee Report. |
