Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer advised a balance of $86.73 with all bills paid including $148.00 to Michigan Lake and Stream Associations for the $75 annual membership fee and $1.00 for each of 73 participating Eagle Lake property owners; $402 for Riparian magazine subscriptions for the participating owners and $50.88 to Doug Dorgan for loud speaker rental last June for the annual meeting.  Because the amount in the checking account had dipped below $100 we are also subject to a monthly service charge.  Report was approved on motion by Brian Hansen and second by Ruth Wilkinson.

Committee reports:

Government:  No report.

Finance:  No report.

Health and Safety:  No report.

Water Quality:  It was noted there continues to be burning of yard waste along the shoreline as evidenced by several large fires last fall.  Chuck Cubbage will approach the Township regarding how we might secure their support in discouraging this activity.  It was also noted that the effort is not to prohibit the traditional contained campfire type of activity that so many people enjoy but to eliminate the large brush and leaf fires that result in huge amounts of ash entering our lake.  However, the small campfires need to be contained in a pit of some kind and be cleaned out periodically, with ash disposal well away from the lake.

Newsletter:  A spring newsletter will be prepared with the intent of mailing around mid May.  Advertising space will be available at the prices of $100 for a full page, $50 for a one-quarter page, $35 for an approximate 4-inch by 4-inch double business card size and $25 for a business card size advertisement.  All board members will be seeking potential advertisers.

Nominating Committee: no report

Web Site:  Due to the difficulty in keeping the web site up to date and the lack of use it appears to be receiving, it was decided to discontinue the web site and save the $25 annual maintenance fee we are paying MLSA.  Doug Dorgan will verify we have a hard copy of all documents included in the web site and Pat Cubbage will notify MLSA prior to the end of March.  This action was approved on motion by Brian Hansen and second by Ruth Wilkinson.
