We had two guests present.

The Board introduced themselves to our new vice president, Russ Bereolos.  The minutes from the June meeting were passed out.  Ruth Wilkinson moved to approve, Jerry King supported.  Motion passed.

There was no treasurer’s report.

It was reported the Annual Meeting had 125 people in attendance.  The combination Breakfast/Annual Meeting went very well, thanks to our Chefs, Tom Kohl and John Tapper and their helpers.  Maybe next year we will have a bigger turnout yet.

Report was given regarding the weevils by Mel Brown.  Enviro Science were out on August 20, 2001 to observe.  There has been “damage” in front of Cubbages and other places.  Also some “damage” has been found by the Public Access.  Enviro Science took some samples with them.  Mel also brought in a sample of the Eurasian Milfoil with the weevil on it.

Discussion turned to the frequency of our Board Meetings.  Skip moved to rescind the previous vote at the June meeting and have our meetings be March, May, June, Annual Meeting-July, August and October.  Jerry King supported.  Motion carried.

A newsletter will be put out sometime in November.

Jerry King reported regarding the Public Access.  He spoke with Tom Welsh, DNR.  The rest room is vaulted with a holding tank.  Regarding a “wash” for the boats to get off “predators” , he was told this was not likely.

New business.  Russ Bereolos commented somebody wants to hunt geese.  He was told they would need a permit from the Conservation Department.  Comment was made a common “household string” strung along the lake shore is good control.

Discussion was made regarding lack of Hoodjije representation.  Contact will be made with the president, Mrs. Kuserak.

Jerry King moved to adjourn at 7:45 pm.  Approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Bernice Packer, Secretary
