Tuesday, August 21, 2001
President
Skip Youngblood called the meeting to order at 7:05pm. Present
were:
President- Skip Youngblood; Vice President – Russ Bereolos;
Secretary-Bernice Packer; Keepsake-Jerry King; Palmer Beach-David
Baker;; Eagle Lake Campers-Skip Youngblood; Collins Cove-Ruth Wilkinson;
Eagle Lake Subdivision-Brian Hanson; Mel Brown; Doug Dorgan; Absent:
Past President glen
Wilkinson; Member at Large-John Tapper; Treasurer-Pat Cubbage; Eagle
Lake Park-Chuck Cubbage; Trails End-Harold Finley; Hoodrije-Rich
Marcinek; We
had two guests present. The
Board introduced themselves to our new vice president, Russ Bereolos.
The minutes from the June meeting were passed out.
Ruth Wilkinson moved to approve, Jerry King supported.
Motion passed. There
was no treasurer’s report. It
was reported the Annual Meeting had 125 people in attendance.
The combination Breakfast/Annual Meeting went very well, thanks
to our Chefs, Tom Kohl and John Tapper and their helpers.
Maybe next year we will have a bigger turnout yet. Report
was given regarding the weevils by Mel Brown.
Enviro Science were out on August 20, 2001 to observe.
There has been “damage” in front of Cubbages and other
places. Also some
“damage” has been found by the Public Access.
Enviro Science took some samples with them. Mel also brought in a sample of the Eurasian Milfoil with the
weevil on it. Discussion
turned to the frequency of our Board Meetings.
Skip moved to rescind the previous vote at the June meeting and
have our meetings be March, May, June, Annual Meeting-July, August and
October. Jerry King
supported. Motion carried. A
newsletter will be put out sometime in November. Jerry
King reported regarding the Public Access.
He spoke with Tom Welsh, DNR.
The rest room is vaulted with a holding tank. Regarding a “wash” for the boats to get off
“predators” , he was told this was not likely. New
business. Russ Bereolos
commented somebody wants to hunt geese.
He was told they would need a permit from the Conservation
Department. Comment was
made a common “household string” strung along the lake shore is good
control. Discussion
was made regarding lack of Hoodjije representation. Contact will be made with the president, Mrs. Kuserak. Jerry
King moved to adjourn at 7:45 pm. Approved. Respectfully
