Keepsake Shores, Eagle Lake

President Glen Wilkinson called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM after a delicious “Free” breakfast prepared by the chefs, Tom Kohl, John Tapper, Jr., Brian Hansen with their helpers.  A total of 125 people were present for the breakfast.  The weather was great and the turnout was wonderful!

Our thanks goes to Keepsake Shores Association for allowing us to use their site.

President Wilkinson welcomed everyone to our meeting.  The meeting started out with a talk being given by Enviro Science representatives, Heather Zakrajsek, Colleen Chalfant and Mark Calabro.  The Middfoil Process was implemented on June 21, 2001, a week before our Annual Meeting.  Three sites of dense Eurasian Watermilfoil were marked for favorable stocking and 15,000 weevils were implanted.  A control site was also established to monitor the movement of weevils throughout the lake.  Enviro Science stated other lakes where the weevils have been implanted have experienced great success.  An additional 10,000 weevils will be implanted in the summer of 2002.  It was stated the importance of boats staying at least 100 feet away from the buoy markers and to travel slowly through these areas.  After a very informative talk, the Enviro Science representatives answered many questions.

The minutes were read.  A motion was made and supported to accept the minutes as presented.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Pat Cubbage gave the treasurer’s report with $3,212.44 in the checking account.  A detailed report was handed out.

According to the bylaws, new officers are selected after a two year term.  The Nominating Committee introduced the new nominated officers for the next two years, 2002-2003.  President-Skip Youngbood;  Vice President-Russ Bereolos; Treasurer-Patricia Cubbage; Secretary-Bernice Packer.  A motion was made and supported to accept these nominations.

President Skip Youngblood took over the meeting and thanked everyone for coming.

Names were drawn for the door prizes, turkey fryer, float plane ride, t-shirts.

The 2001 Annual Meeting was a great success.

Respectfully submitted,

Bernice Packer
