Board of Director’s Meeting

Tuesday, October 10, 2000

Glen Wilkinson called them meeting to order at 7:05 PM.

Present were: Past President-Mel Brown, Vice President-Tom Kohl, Keepsake-Richard Rapparlie, Eagle Lake Subdivision-Brian Hansen, Trails End-Harold Finley, Palmer Beach-David Baker, Eagle Lake Campers- Skip Youngblood.

Absent: Secretary-Bernice Packer, Eagle Lake Park-Chuck Cubbage, Treasurer-Pat Cubbage, Hoodrije-Rich Marcenek, Member at Large-John Tapper, Collins Cove-Matt Leighton

Doug Dorgan was guest.

The minutes were read and approved.  The Treasurer’s report of $4170.94 was accepted as presented.  We have 111 members, 76 paid and 35 unpaid.

President Wilkinson reported that the petitions were turned in to the Township Board and we have three over the required 51% and more are coming.  The board will not act upon our petition until the December meeting of the new board.  We can continue adding petition signers until then.

Motion by Mel Brown and supported by Harold Finley that to ensure that Enviro- science put us in the schedule for starting the weevil planting in May that the president, Glen Wilkinson sign the contract as presented by Enviroscience.

After discussion, motion carried.  President Wilkinson will advise all absentee board members of this decision.

There were no reports from the standing committees.

There was a discussion of how assessments might be made and how we should reccommend action to the Township Board.  David Baker of Palmer Beach asked the president to clarify how certain lots, owned by the Palmer Beach Association, would be assessed.  He will contact the Township Office on this subject.

New Business:  The public access is in bad shape and difficult to launch boats and it was discussed as to what could be done and if our board should take any action.

Michigan Lakes & Streams Association is having a seminar in Grand Rapids on October 21^st with a fee of $17 per person.  Motion by Kohl and supported by Finley that the board reinburse 3 board members expense to attend.  Motion Carried.
