PBWOA Historical CommitteeThe History steering committee members are Robert Reed, chairperson, Bill Tupper, who is the PBWOA board representative, Eric Aupperle, Neta and Roger O’Brien, Ken Holtz, Don Canham and Tom Ehman. The Steering Committee will meet at the PBWOA Meeting Lodge located at 11865 Durston, at 7:00 PM on dates to be assigned. Robert Reed reported about the first town platted right here called Saratoga. It was an ambitious project with the streets all named and a steam-powered riverboat that would take you on a 30-mile boating adventure. Unfortunately the project never panned out. Robert reported that the History project would concentrate primarily on the three main lakes that are in the association however we would include stories from upstream as far as Zukey Lake and south down river to Hudson Mills. Robert wants everyone to be active in this endeavor and help with getting the stories and collecting the photos that we will need for a lively and interesting publication. We will take individual depositions about their personal recollection of events as well as any documentation that they might have. Any documents and photos will be promptly scanned into our computer and returned to the owner. Current Contributors to the PBWOA Historical Committee are Don Canham, Bob Reed, Pam and Tom Hiller, Dave Spielman, Bonnie and Ray Gee, Roberta Barstow, Jackie and Bill Ferrington, Dorothy Sprout, Nancy and Eric Aupperle, Neta and Roger O’Brien, Beverly and Laurie Howley, Ken Holtz, Benne and Wally Fusilier, Patty and Bill Tupper and Tom Ehman.
