Unfortunately, Personal Watercraft are involved in a lot of all boating accidents! You, as the owner of a personal watercraft, are responsible for anyone that you let use the PWC, regardless of his or her age. The law presumes that the personal watercraft is being operated with the knowledge and consent of the owner. When you or your children's friends or relatives visit and want to use your PWC, it is important that they know how to operate and handle the watercraft and are familiar with the unique properties of the vehicle, in addition to having a BSC on them. This is a great class for anyone who may be using any watercraft as well as being a good refresher for those who already have their BSC. So call the PBWOA Hot Line at (734) 878-6770. Give the answering machine your name, phone number and the number of people that plan to attend; then mark your calendar for Saturday, May 21, 2012, from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the Portage Yacht Club. There will be a charge of $5.00 to cover the cost of the lunch served. You will be able to obtain your BSC that day.
