Minutes of Annual Membership Meeting – May 19, 2001
Jon Lucker, president, at 10:05 AM, called the general
meeting to order at
the Keeler Keg and Kitchen.
- Board meeting summaries since the last general meeting were read by Dave
Piwnicki, secretary, and accepted.
- The treasurer’s report was read by Mary Hosty and accepted.
- Elections were held which resulted in: Bobbie Piwnicki, president: David
Piwnicki, vice-president; Jon Lucker, secretary; Mark Petro, treasurer.
- Jon said that 42 members have paid their dues and an additional $250 was
collected from the membership.
- Jon stated that the annual picnic is scheduled for the last Saturday in
July at 2 PM. Ray Stewart and Alta Baker are the chairpersons. Fried chicken,
beer and pop will be supplied by the association.
- Bob Moeller has been taking measurements of the depth and clarity of the
water. Chlorophyll has been measured for the first time this year. He found
12-foot depths in the middle of the lake. The Keeler Lake Property Owners
Association will get a report in the fall. We need to get a new water tester
on a regular basis. Larry Moeller said he would consider it.
- Dick Soper will administer weed treatment the week of May 29th.
- Dave Piwnicki gave a report on Reliable Disposal vs. Waste Management.
Currently, Reliable is $12/month. Waste Management said they would charge
$7.75 if they could a majority of the lake properties. Dave is waiting for a
return call from Reliable to see if they will match Waste Management’s bid.
- Phil Smith asked to find out the cost of Dick Soper’s charge per surface
acre.
- A motion was made and accepted to include eelgrass treatment costs with
the general treatment.
- Mark Petro made a presentation regarding lake level and water quality
management via a well installation vs. dredging (see attachment). An open
discussion followed. A motion was made and accepted for the Keeler Lake
Property Owners board to pursue building an 8" well.
