The Noblet Field Station is the staging area for many of the Conservancy's activities.
In the past, it has been the location of several of Headwaters Environmental Station's Ecology Research Internships and Field Studies. More recently, it has been the site of an Aquatic Ecology course offered through Michigan Tech's Summer Youth Program. The Field Station has also been the site of an Artist-in-Residence program, and it is the home of GLC's annual open house.
Research internships and field studies have included the clams, algae, birds, and small mammals living at Gratiot Lake. Students have also studied the chemistry and biology of the Lake, the Little Gratiot River, and an old beaver dam. Other programs have focused upon creation of poetry, stories, photos, paintings, and illustrations related to the ecology.
