Fish Fry

"It's about time we did something like this!"  "The food was excellent!"  "What a nice party!"  "It just all jelled together!  It was GREAT!"

        These were just a few of the nice comments that were overheard about the Evans Lake Land Owners Association Fish Fry on August 11, 2007 at Leroy Cases' lot on Highland Drive.  The Fish Fry consisted of Deep Fried Fish (Pollock), corn on the cob, cole slaw, potato salad, roll & butter, salsa & chips, and assorted desserts!  We also had numerous raffle prizes that were donated with everyone winning something.  The estimated crowd was 225 people.  Fourteen-2 person teams participate in the Chuck Case Memorial Horse Shoe Tournament.  A Fishing contest for children 15 years old and under with a 15" large mouth bass taking first place caught by Spencer Macek.  Special thanks go to all the volunteers that helped make this a successful fund raising event for the Fish Stocking Program.  After all the expenses of the food, tent rental, porta-johns ~ the Fish Committee cleared over $800 from this fund raising event.

~ Poaching ~  if you think someone is poaching (taking too many fish or keeping under size fish or harvesting fish the wrong way)
get as much information as possible; for example, license plate of vehicle, make & model of vehicle, color & type of boat,
 registration number, try to get a description of the people, name on the ice shanty, etc.
