Lakewide Fish Fry

August 11 - Well attended ( approx 225) - $875 profit - verbal & written thank you's for organizing.  LeRoy Case thanked everyone for setup & cleanup.

Fish Committee Report  - Jeff Fineske, Chairman

Fall 2007 Fish Stocking - scheduled for late October or early November:

· 20 Lbs. Fathead Minnows

· 100 4-6" Redear Sunfish

· 300 5-7" Smallmouth Bass

· 1,100 6-8" Walleye

Conservation & Preservation Update - Jeff Fineski

Released 24 pheasants 8/25/07 - mixed hens & roosters

Spring Election

Positions we will be voting on next May:  President, Secretary and three Trustee positions.

Dam Report

We've been working to clear the earth dykes of brush and will continue in earnest this fall when the leaves drop.

Our Spring Evans Lake Landowners Association meeting is scheduled for May 18, 2007 at 10:00 am at Sand Lake Fire Department.

Unfinished Business:

ELLOA Website
We can have a website through Michigan Lakes & Streams (least expensive) for $50 a year.  Cheryl Slusher has volunteered to be WebMaster and to maintain the site.
Motion to establish and maintain a website through Michigan Lakes & Streams as proposed - Ann Murphy      Second - Jim Pavelka
Motion passed by approx 80% - this satisfies the bylaw requirement of 2/3 vote to reverse previous denial of website.
The board will notify the membership of site address as soon as possible.

New Business:

• If you are missing your paddleboat, call Joe Ouellette - 431-2812
• Evans Lake Environmental Properties, Inc (Jim & Donna Budde, dam owners) received notification from the Franklin Twp. Planning Commission.  There will be a hearing Sept. 10, 2007 at 7:30 pm at the Township Hall concerning a proposed Septage Waste Storage Facility on farm land between the Lenawee County Drain Commission Property and the dam property.  Reminders of this meeting were passed out.  Jim Budde is collecting general information of such facilities and information specific to this particular proposed facility.  Anyone else who finds information, please pass it on to him.  He will prepare a report of pros & cons to present to the Planning Commission.
• E-Coli testing of lake water.  Per information received from Steve May, Lenawee County Drain Commissioner, we may want to expand the frequency of e-coli testing.  He gave recommendations for frequency and locations.  Increased funding may be necessary.  More complete information will be presented for vote at Spring Meeting.

Community Announcements:

Algae blooms may be toxic so beware of them especially for children & pets.
