- Residents were updated
on sewer condition and repairs.
- No health or
environmental hazards from sewer equipment on their front lawns.
- 1,268 homes &
business connected to this sewer system - built late 1990's
- Repair project:
- Plastic grinder pumps
buried in front lawns have been cracking and buckling.
- Lenawee County Drain
Commission plant to begin installing seals made of stainless steel
bands and rubber. These are warranted for 50 years.
- Inspections of every
grinder pump tank have been made and rated
1 (good) to 5 (poor)
1 - 20 tanks
2 - 151 tanks
3 - 296 tanks
4 - 509 tanks
5 - 134 tanks

5. Five year warranty of these tanks
have expired. Cost approximately $200 each to repair and will be
covered by operational
reserves.

The cracking is occurring between where the cement base and the tank
are connected. The proposed repair is the coupler made of rubber
& stanless steel placed on the inside of the tank.
Repairs to the grinder pumps
will begin soon - 2008. They will be starting with the level 5's

It is unlawful to put
anything for sale or place signs indicating such on the corners of
Breyman Hwy and Evans Trail where they meet US-12 or any other
roads. The punishment
for this offense a citation up to and including imprisonment if bodily
injury occurs as a result of such placement. Make sure to take
note of this and spread the word. In this way we police ourselves
and relieve the Michigan State Police of this responsibility.
