AICLA MEMBERSHIP MEETING August 29, 2009 MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by president, Russ Anton, at 9:05 a.m. The Pledge was led by Russ. Board members present were: Russ Anton, Caryl Anton, Sherrie Adis, Bob Breault, Harold Carriveau, Wayne Easterling, Paul Riach, Leonard Schmitt and Shari Stephens. Thirty-five people attended the meeting.
Minutes: Motion to accept the minutes of the July 4, 2009 meeting was made by Rick Adis and seconded by Harold Carriveau. Motion passed.
Membership: Membership chairperson, Shari Stephens, reported that the association currently has 328 members.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented was made by Wayne Easterling and seconded by Paul Riach. Motion passed.
Save The Lake Campaign: Caryl Anton reported that the current Save the Lake bank balance is $2,818.15
New Business: Guest Speakers: Russ introduced Dr. Doug Pullman of Aquest Corporation and Jeff Knox of Aquatic Services, Inc. They spoke to the membership about the control and treatment of the aquatic plants in Cedar Lake. A question and answer session followed the presentation. As a result of membership interest in the chemicals used in weed treatment and the prohibition of the use of some chemicals near shoreline, the board will attempt to formulate a procedure to locate the drinking wells around the lake.
The 50/50 raffle was held.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:35 on a motion by Sherrie Adis, seconded by Rick Adis.
