Baldwin Lake Association Newsletter

An Anchor for our Community

January 2003 Volume 10 Issue 1

President’s Corner

We, again, thank Marv Dolph for the assistance he is giving to help Keith Kankel become accustomed to our Treasurer’s books for Baldwin Lake Association. Marv has done a spectacular job of keeping our finances straight.

We thank all those that have already donated for next years mosquito spraying. In light of the West Nile Virus cases in our immediate area, as well as other mosquito-related illnesses, we are including a form to assist more people in making sure we can continue the effort.

The petitions concerning the wastewater treatment system are progressing well, although they are taking longer than originally thought because of the questions and finding the actual Tax ID for each property. Many people have their Assessment papers or Tax Bill quickly available, while others have a certain amount of trouble finding them. Either of them has the Tax ID for each property. It is feared that the delay of such a project will end up increasing the costs since the companies that would be doing the work will undoubtedly increase their prices once all their people are busy again when other areas start similar projects.

This early winter has been rather erratic here, just as it has across the country. Just cold enough to make outside work less desirable but warm enough that those who ice fish did not have the ice they would like on our, or any, lake.

We hope to see you at our Association meetings, which are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 7:00 P.M. (IN) at the Porter Township Administration building, just north of the Fire Station on Baldwin Prairie north of U.S. 12. Although the voting needs to be channeled thru your Advisor, we appreciate the discussion and ideas from all members to be sure that we are handling things the way you wish it to be. We changed the meeting night hoping that the change in day may make it easier for more people to attend to express their ideas, opinions, and recommendations. Remember that this is YOUR Lake Association and we want to listen to your requests that will help to fulfill the Baldwin Lake Association’s mission: MAINTAIN AND PRESERVE OUR LAKE COMMUNITY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS THROUGH EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION, AND COMMITMENT TO BALDWIN LAKE.

We want everyone to know that the officers and advisors always welcome your suggestions and comments. Those can be given by e-mail to baldwin-lake-366@mlswa.org or by phone to any officer or advisor.
